Arthur passed away May 27, 2015, in Clarkston, Wash., at the age of 79. Arthur was born Jan. 13, 1936, in Joseph, to George Washington Keener and Mabel Isley. He lived most of his life in Joseph. He attended Joseph High School until the 10th grade. He had a career working for the U.S. Forest Service. He retired in 1986 after 35 years.
In 1954, he married Dorothy (Boyce). They had two boys, Jeffrey Ned, born in 1955, and Philip George, born in 1958. Dorothy passed away Dec. 7, 2013.
He moved to Clarkston in 1996 to be near his youngest son and family.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing or anything doing with the outdoors.
He is survived by sons Jeffrey (Betty) Ned Keener, White City; Philip George Keener, with fiance Bonnie Engle, of Lewiston, Idaho; grandchildren Paula (Jeremy) Jorgensen and children Emily and Noah of Canby; John (Leanna) Keener and children Madisyn and Kai of Central Point; and Eric (Kristina) Keener of Lewiston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Keener; father George Keener; mother Mabel Keener; daughter-in-law Josie Keener; and several aunts and uncles.
According to his wishes, he is to be cremated and buried in Joseph. Services are planned at a later date.
