Bernice Elnora Lindley, 92, died April 5, 2005, in Pendleton. She born in Flora on July 4, 1912, the daughter of Theodore and Gephilia (Tucker) Conrad.

Mrs. Lindley attended school in Flora and on September 11, 1933 she married Ralph Lindley in Enterprise. Together the couple operated the Flora post office and store until 1948, when they moved to La Grande. Mrs. Lindley was a girl scout leader from 1960 until 1965. She was employed by Montgomery Wards and the Salvation Army. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, canning, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Zana and Joe Shuman of Pendleton and Lila and Thad Killingbeck of Boardman; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Nita Rogers; sisters Blanche Hall and Lorlene Beddow; and a grandson.

A graveside service was held on April 8 at the Hillcrest Cemetery in La Grande. Contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of choice in care of Daniels Chapel of the Valley, 1502 7th Street, La Grande, Oregon 97850.
