Edith Eggleson

Edith Sorenson Eggleson, 102, died at home in Idaho Falls, Ida. on March 23, 2003. She was born April 23, 1900 in Thief River Falls, Minn. to Hans Christian and Anna Matilda Sorenson.

Edith Sorenson Eggleson, 102, died at home in Idaho Falls, Ida. on March 23, 2003. She was born April 23, 1900 in Thief River Falls, Minn. to Hans Christian and Anna Matilda Sorenson.

Always independent, Edith left home to attend business college in North Dakota at the age of 15, moved to Everett, Wash. where she finished high school and proceeded to put herself through college at the University of Oregon, where she met her husband, Asa William Eggleson. The couple married in 1928 and made their home in Wallowa County.

After her husband's death, Mrs. Eggleson opened a women's wear store, "The Hollywood Shoppe," in Lewiston, Ida. She was well known for her sense of style and business acumen. After retirement in 1971, she moved to Idaho Falls to be near her daughter. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Anne Bush of Idaho Falls; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Asa; son-in-law Eugene Bush; two brothers, Lloyd and Clarence; and a sister, Lillian.

Funeral services were held March 26 at the First Presbyterian Church of Idaho Falls.
