CORRECTION (Published 5/1/03): The survivors of Edwin Omer Throop include Sharon McComas (not McConas) of Port Angeles, Wash. and brothers Pete Throop of Port Angeles and Pat Throop of Joseph (the towns were reversed). The submitted information was in error.
Edwin Omer Throop, 89, died April 17, 2003, in Enterprise.
He was born Dec. 13, 1913 in Paulina to Herrell and Anna Marie (Nickerson)Throop.
During his lifetime Mr. Throop was a merchant seaman in the North Atlantic and South Pacific Theaters during WWII, worked as a logger, was purchasing agent for States Marine Isthmian Line and was owner of Foster Square Shoe Repair prior to moving to Enterprise in 1993.
Survivors include his children Patricia Pennell of Pacific Palisades, Calif., Sharon McConas of Port Angeles, Wash., and Mark Throop of Portland; brothers Pat Throop of Joseph, Pete Throop of Port Angeles, Wash., and Jerry Throop of Glenwood, Wash.; sisters Dorcas Houghton of Springfield, Katherine Steinbach of Glenwood, Wash., and Louise Stratton of Portland; two grandchildren and one great- grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Iris Mae Shafer; a sister, Dora Throop and a brother, Lloyd Throop.
At the deceased's request there will be no services. Arrangements were handled by the Bollman Funeral Home.
