Florence “Flo” Inez Power of Enterprise passed peacefully in her sleep at home Oct. 12, 2016 at age 67.
“Tiny,” as many knew her, was born Dec. 9, 1948 to Levi T. Bowman and Ruby Opal Wilson in Pendleton and grew up in Enterprise.
She graduated from Enterprise High School and later married Verl Powers in 1996. She was a homemaker and “World’s Best Mom.” She also was an auxiliary member of the Enterprise VFW Hall.
She enjoyed riding mules and hunting for elk and deer. One of her favorite times of the year was Christmas, when she would get her children and grandchildren to help her make cookies to give to family and friends.
Flo never passed up a good water fight and often was the instigator. Her favorite pastime was reading and rocking by the fire where she could see her mountains that she returned to in 1992.
She is survived by husband Verl Powers; children James Curtis Jr. (and wife Tammy) of Shiocton, Wisc., David Curtis (Deanna) of Bovina, Texas, Christopher Curtis (Michelle) of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Heather Curtis of Mountain Home; siblings Barbara Platt of Pilot Rock, Phyllis Murphy (Ray) of La Grande, Audrey Craigen, Levi Bowman (Candy) and Janet Slaughter (Bruce); 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Samual Bowman.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 at Bollman Funeral Home, 315 W. Main St. in Enterprise, with Pastor Mouse McKinney officiating. A reception will follow at the VFW Hall in Enterprise.
