Frank Merle Weatherford, 49, died Dec. 7, 2002, at his home in Enterprise. He was born May 11, 1954, at The Dallas, to Earl and Dolores Weatherford.

While attending school in Condon, Mr. Weatherford was district champion in the pole vault, restored a 1952 Willy's Jeep and was elected student body president, before graduating in 1972. He attended Oregon State University for three years, where he played football during his freshman year and started a custom harvesting business by purchasing a combine and some used trucks.

He moved to Enterprise in 2001 from Baker City, was an avid hunter and fisherman for most of his life, and enjoyed doing things for others in the community.

Mr. Weatherford is survived by his father, Earl; brothers Robert, Marion, and Morris; a sister, Cherie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores; a brother, Grant; and a nephew, Derek.

A memorial service will be held at the Enterprise Christian Church on Friday, Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. Any memorial contributions may be made to the Condon Dollars for Scholars Foundation, PO Box 385, Condon, OR 97823 or the Nazarene Church Building Fund, PO Box 487, Arlington, OR 97812.
