Senior Master Sergeant Jimmie L. Jones (Ret.), U.S. Air Force, of Enterprise died at the age of 78. Graveside military services with military honors were held Friday, Sept. 10, at Enterprise Cemetery.

Jim was born in Paoli, Ind., the son of Clarence and Myrtle (Reister) Jones. He grew up in Paoli and entered in the United States Air Force in 1952 and was stationed in England where he met and married his wife Brenda in 1954.

Following retirement from the Air Force in 1972 Jim and Brenda settled in Enterprise, where he worked at Milligan Motors and was active in the local VFW.

He enjoyed fixing cars, wood working, including building furniture and home improvements, and he was an avid fisherman and camper.

Most of all Jim enjoyed activities with his family and friends.

Jim is survived by his wife, Brenda; his son, Max, of Pendleton; daughter, Pier Jones, of La Grande; sisters, Sue Baldwin of Orleans, Ind., Mabel Hornbeck and Ann Marie Jones, both of Paoli, Ind., and Mary Law of Streetman, Texas; and his grandson, U.S. Army Captain Jason Jones of Killeen, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Dean Lindley Jones.
