Margaret Misander Esmieu, former resident of Wallowa County, passed away Sept. 1, 2004 at the Washington Odd Fellows Home in Walla Walla at the age of 86, due to complications of Alzheimers. She had been a homemaker and worked as a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital at Walla Walla after moving there with her three children in 1965. She is survived by her husband, Steve Esmieu, two daughters: Betty Hennessey of Vancouver, Washington, and Judy Stensrud of Yakima, and four grandchildren: Brian and Megan Hennessey of Vancouver, Eric Stensrud of Pacific, Washington and Angie Martin of Chico, California. She was preceded in death by her son Jim Misander who died March 12, 2003.

A memorial service will be held at Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, Washington on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Fireside Room, at the Merriam Street Apartments, 115 Merriam St., Walla Walla.
