Maxine Ruth Donaldson, 84, passed away at Wallowa Valley Care Center in Enterprise, Nov. 24. She was born in Mason City, Iowa in 1920 to George Hall and Clarice Mitchell Hall Knott and Stepfather George Knott, who all have preceded her in death.
The family moved to Bellingham, Wash., where she attended Bellingham Grade School and Whatcom High School.
She married Thomas W. Woolley of Wasco, Calif. in 1937 and became divorced in 1957 and returned to Washington State and worked for West Coast telephone later known as General Telephone Co. She married Charles W. (Bill) Donaldson in Dec. 1961 in Everett, Wash. After retirement they settled in Sun City, Calif.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Thomas W. Woolley in May 1981 and Charles W. Donaldson in Oct. 1993, her sister Charlotte Chamberlain in Dec 1996 of Bellingham, Wash., and two daughters: Gladys Woolley and Charlene Woolley.
Maxine is survived by two sisters-in-laws: Ruth Woolley of Wasco, Calif., and Reverne Woolley of Grover City, Calif. Her two daughters Judi Bales and son-in-law Maurice Bales of Joseph; Janet Woolley and partner, Rita DuBord of Sequim, Wash.; six grand children, six great grandchildren, nephews and nieces and many friends.
Cremation will follow with a memorial gathering in the spring in Wallowa Valley, to be announced at a later date. Contributions may be made in her name to Wallowa Valley Care Center, Enterprise, OR 97828
