Maxine Gribling, 89, formerly of Elgin but more recently of Pendleton, died Jan. 12, 2003. She was born Dec. 31, 1913 to Roy C. and Helen Moore Edgmand.

Mrs. Gribling grew up in the Enterprise area and continued to live there after her marriage to Gordon Gribling in 1930. After moving to Elgin in 1942, she operated a dry cleaning business until she and her husband retired and moved to Troy. After Gordon's death in 1991, she moved back to Elgin to be near family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gayle and Barbara Gribling of Elgin; her daughter, Jean Monaghan of Pendleton; seven grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held at the Bollman Funeral Chapel on Jan. 18 with burial at the Enterprise Cemetery following.
