Meryl Lee Daggett, 47, of Joseph, died at home on March 11, 2003. He was born February 25, 1956 in Enterprise to Vernon and Maxine Daggett of Joseph.

Meryl grew up in the Joseph area, attending school there and eventually graduating from Joseph High School. After high school he worked as a farm and ranch hand in the area. Following the death of his father in 1996, he took over as caretaker of Prairie Creek Cemetery. He had also spent the last several years as caregiver for his mother. He spent much of his spare time camping, fishing, hunting and hiking. He was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 557 and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was known for his kindness, compassion and caring.

Survivors include his mother, Maxie Daggett of Joseph; a sister, Elaine Entermille of Pendleton; a brother, Leland Daggett of Enterprise, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon.

Graveside services were held Saturday, March 15, at the Prairie Creek Cemetery.
