Gayle Ruth Lyman died at Memorial Hospital in Enterprise. She was born in Everett, Wash., to Abner (Abe) Aaron Lyman and Arlene Leone Dake Lyman.

She lived for a time in Lake Stevens, Wash., then moved to Wallowa and later to Oregon City, Ore., and Elgin before moving back to Wallowa.

She attended Lake Stevens High School in Arlington, Wash., Roosevelt Grade School and Wallowa High School.

She married James Leonard Henderson and later married Donald Eugene Curtis, both of whom are deceased.

She was employed with Reddaway Trucking and Providence Medical in Portland. Her hobbies included stamping, crafting and collecting purple (she was known as the “purple lady”).

She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Allison Henderson (Mike) Hulse of Wallowa, son Lyle Aaron (Christina Barnes) Henderson of La Grande and daughter Meagan Ruth (David) Morris of Chesapeake, VA. Also three grandchildren: Amanda Morris, Jackson Barnes and KateLynn Barnes.

Her brother, Daniel Abner Lyman, died in 1978.

A celebration of life was held at Wallowa Assembly of God Oct. 27.
