Willa Mae O’Rourke

May 20, 1927 –– Sept. 25, 2018

Willa Mae O’Rourke, 91, of Joseph went to be with the Lord. Willa was born in Monument, Ore., to LeRoy and Josephine Jones. She was the fourth of six children. She attended grammar and high school in Monument.

She met Hillary Michael “Mike” O’Rourke in the spring and married March 9, 1947 while he was working for Peter Kewitts.

Mike and Willa Mae settled just outside of Joseph, in 1955 where they still reside. They had three children Larry, Patrick and Mavis. Willa Mae worked in the ship yards in Portland in 1944 and Joseph High school Cafeteria.

She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, St. Katherine Catholic Church, she enjoyed her garden, lawn and cooking, handy work sewing and crocheting.

Proceeded in death by parents, son Patrick, one sister and three brothers, she leaves behind her husband Mike, son Larry of LaGrande, daughter Mavis of Joseph and the loves of her life four grandchildren nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at St. Katherine Catholic Church with Interment of Cremains at the Joseph Cemetery.

Fellowship will follow at the Parish Hall In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jalyn Radford-Weck account at Community Bank. Bollman Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
