Maxine Elaine Mackin died Oct. 25, 2007, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash. She was 66.

Mrs. Mackin was born Feb. 4, 1941 in Wallace, Idaho to James F. and Ruby Feragan Hillier. She grew up in Spokane, Wash. and graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in 1958. She graduated from Washington State University with a bachelor's degree in History in 1962. She married Gary Marr in 1963. They had two sons. The couple later divorced. She married Jim Mackin in 1978. They were married nearly 30 years.

Mrs. Mackin worked as an office manager with the Wallowa County Road Department from 1977 to 2003.

She enjoyed camping, traveling, her family, cooking and pets.

She is survived by her husband Jim of Joseph; son Shane and Shelley Marr of Seattle, Wash.; son Todd and Heather Marr of Enterprise; step daughter Patty Barnett and husband Pat of Nez Perce, Idaho; Connor and Addie Mackin of Rigby, Idaho and Justin, Chelsea, and Shelby Moncrief of Enterprise.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Carol Hillier.

Funeral services were held Oct. 30 at Joseph Cemetery.
