Alvin Lee Tippett

July 14, 2012

Alvin Lee Tippett of Joseph died July 14, 2012, at Wallowa Memorial Hospital at the age of 80.

He was born April 24, 1932, in Lewiston, Idaho, to Claire (Estes) and Sylvester James Tippett.

Alvin was raised on the upper Imnaha and lived all of his life at Joseph.

He was a logger and loved hunting and fishing.

He served in the Korean War, the Oregon National Guards and was a life-member of the VFW.

Survivors are children Ricky Allen Tippett, William James Tippett and Shelly Tippett Johnson, all of Joseph; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; half-brother John Smith, Joseph; and half-sister Janice of Canada.

Alvin was preceded in death by half-brother Tim Smith.

At his request he will be cremated.   

There will be a celebration of life at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at the Enterprise VFW Hall.
