Geraldine M. Bornstedt of Salem, a life-long Oregonian who was born and raised in Wallowa County, died March 30, 2013.

She married her high school sweetheart, John, in 1942 and enjoyed 54 years of marriage, including following John across the United States while he trained to pilot B-17 bombers during WWII.

John preceded her in death in 1997. Together they raised three children.

Geri lived her last 42 years in Salem. She enjoyed many arts, especially calligraphy. She belonged to the Salem Calligraphy Guild, and the Joy of Living Bible Study at the Nazarene Church. In her later years she was able to do quite a bit of travel and spent time with friends and family.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda and Bob Sisk, Jim and DeeDee Bornstedt, and Jack and Ruth Bornstedt; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and sisters Evelyn Wagner and Reita Lockett.
