Our local librarian, Connie Curry, braved rain and snow Saturday night to attend the Imnaha Rodeo Club taco feed and charity auction for Donna Wilson, the Imnaha librarian who is fighting cancer. Saturday night, while we in the canyon were unaware, there was a blizzard of a storm raging on top of the ridge. The Alan Schnetzky and Cannon families from Flora were also seen in Imnaha being charitable and most came home with items. Thankfully all made it home safely.
The Troy Cub Scouts are getting ready to attend the Blue and Gold Banquet and cake auction March 1. The annual dinner celebrates scouting and the cake auction raises much needed funds for the scouts. Fathers and sons will bake the cakes together. The tase is not guaranteed but the fun is, and after all it is a fund raiser. If you wish to bid, you need not be present, just notify any scout as they all have pledge sheets. You may contact scout leaders David or Connie at 828-7902 or 828-7786 for more information.
Mike Curry is home recovering from surgery. We all wish you well. He lives in Flora with his brother Jeff.
The school had special visitors from the Seattle area to come and spend Tuesday with the students. Mrs. Beyers, former school librarian, and her daughter came and read stories and played guitar for the students. They were followed by Melanie Kiesecker who came to the school Wednesday and instructed the children in making butter from fresh cream. Everyone loved this hands on demonstration.
Expenses for the McCall trip are now in. Reimbursement for the gasoline for parents and other expenses including hotel, skiing and other activities add up to a total of $3,332.08.
