I'm continually surprised by the number of people who haven't heard about the exciting Business Facilitation Program that is available to our citizens and those planning to move here.

I have supported the program since I first heard Ernesto Sirolli present his ideas more than five years ago. I thought, "wow" when he touted the premise that to succeed a business must embrace the "trinity of management," which includes production, marketing and financial skills.

In my nine years as Wallowa County Chamber manger, I could think of a number of local businesses that floundered or failed because they lacked or neglected one or more of these management areas.

Business facilitation is designed to help entrepreneurs or existing business owners realize their dreams for success, and Wallowa County is extremely fortunate to have Myron Kirkpatrick as our facilitator.

Both a teacher and a doer, he could be commanding fees of $150 to $200 an hour as a business consultant, but thanks to our program his services are free.

I urge anyone who is contemplating starting, maintaining or expanding a business to contact Myron at 426-5858 for free and confidential business coaching. It could be the most important call of your life.
