In a few days we'll all be voting. Because it's a local non-partisan position, the race for district attorney gets only small attention - a few lawn signs, letters to the editor, and the like. But the district attorney is the chief law enforcement officer in the county, and his performance contributes to the safety and well-being of the entire community.

None of us would ask a brain surgeon to set a broken bone, even the best brain surgeon in town. We'd go to the doctor with the right kind of experience. Dan Ousley has the right kind of experience and background to continue being Wallowa County's District Attorney. As the incumbent county prosecutor, he's done a good job for more than ten years and deserves to be re-elected.
