To the Editor:

One thing is for certain - Wallowa County has been endowed with a vast array of natural resources: a beautiful, pristine lake, hiking trails, camping areas and fine skiing areas.

Property taxes are at present too high, while increases of 3 percent or more are not uncommon, affecting market values and property assessments. They are on a steady increase and make it very difficult for people on a fixed income and tight budget. Please vote "no" on the proposed recreational district.
