We quote from Bill Aney's excellent column ("Joining Greater Idaho — no, thank you," Wednesday, March 8), reporting on the folks who are urging a change in Oregon's borders so we Eastern Oregonians can all live happily ever after in Greater Idaho: “ ... they want to create a monolithic bloc of like-minded individuals. They call the entire area 'Trump-voting' and solid red. Hooboy.”

This may come as a shock, but there are quite a few Democrats here in Wallowa County, despite Michael Clements' similar comment in his Wallowa County Voices interview in that same issue: “We're not Democrats up here.” Aney said it right: hooboy.
