To the Editor:

After reading the SBHC information in the current Chieftain I wondered if I went to the wrong meeting.

I would describe emotions of 90% of those present barely restrained.

Most of us believe this is the government meddling in our lives. The second part of this is how it came about. Apparently, this has been orchestrated in a very quiet manner between WWMC, the Enterprise school board and Superintendent, a mysterious group of twelve, at least a couple conflicts of interest along with a belief that most of us are not smart enough to figure it out and apparently no communications with the other four clinics in Wallowa County.

A few more unknown issues, what is the role of the county, will the Enterprise school receive any compensation for costs, will SBHC direct patients to WWMC if they are not the provider and are we sure this is the best way to handle these students? With a clinic in three towns, within a few minutes of each school, maybe we do not need SBHC and their grants that might go away and their rules and regulations.
