After a sloppy first half of girls basketball, the Condon Blue Devils upended Enterprise 34-23 Friday at the Pendleton Convention Center, advancing to the championship game with Santiam in the 2002 Oregon Trail Classic.

Condon led 13-11 at halftime Friday, and then Haylee Farrar scored all nine of her points with three 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Blue

Devils outscored Enterprise 16-8 in the quarter for a commanding 29-19 lead. "This was not one of our better performances that's for sure, but we've kind of been like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," said Condon head coach Teresa Humphrey.

Both Enterprise and Condon struggled offensively in the first half and neither team could convert many shot opportunities. Enterprise disrupted Condon with full-court pressure. Condon finally made its first field goal when Jessica Snyder scored with 4:46 left in the second quarter. "We struggled with the press, but I stressed to keep running the press break that we run in practice," Humphrey said.

The Blue Devils, sparked by Farrar's back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the third quarter, responded with an 11-6 run to close the quarter and led 29-18.

"Our first half was horrible, but we talked at halftime and I'm glad we could turn it around," Farrar said.

Condon turned on the defense in the fourth quarter and held Enterprise to just five points while Katee Humphrey scored three of her 10 points. Snyder also finished with 10 points and Norie Winters added six for the Blue Devils.

Condon held Enterprise's offensive leader, Lacey Nobles, to nine points and Jessie Morgan added seven points. "We came out and played a box-and-one (defense) and I think we did a pretty good job on her," Farrar said. "We have had some ups and downs this year, but hopefully we are on the up." Santiam is a good team and they will be ready for us," coach Humphreysaid. "We will have to play well to beat a great team like them."
