Frank Caccavo and Dee Odgen departed Ollokot within 12 minutes of each other after midnight and proceeded towards the finish line at Ferguson Ridge and the latter half of the 100-mile sled dog race of the Eagle Cap Extreme. As of 1 a.m. every musher - both the 100- and the 200-mile courses - had departed the checkpoint at Ollokot.

Four hours after Caccavo stopped at Ollokot at 6:02 p.m., he left for Fergi at 12:08 a.m. His team included all eight dogs. Odgen had to drop a dog, but he followed Caccavo at 12:20. Rick Katucki left Ollokot with a full team at 12:48. Steve Riggs was the last musher at 12:56.

Earlier, three other mushers left Ollokot for Halfway - another checkpoint in the 200. Rob Loveman was gone as of 10:30 p.m., Scott Thompson 10:51 and Daryl Gruet 11:55. They joined the three mushers who had long since left Ollokot in the following order: Billy Snodgrass, John Greenside and Steve Madsen.
