The Chief Joseph Golf Tournament, a fun tournament open to the public and sponsored by the Wallowa County Shrine Club, will be held Friday morning at Alpine Meadows in Enterprise.

A full slate of more than 72 golfers is scheduled to sign in at 7 a.m. with tee off time to begin at 8 a.m.

The event is a fund-raiser for children involved with the Shriner's Hospital and for club projects with each participant paying $40 for the privilege of playing.

Mulligans can be purchased to give a golfer a second opportunity to repeat an errant shot without penalty. Diddle balls, described as "a game inside a game" can also be purchased.

Three men's flites and one women's flite will be played in the handicapped event. Prizes such as towels and hats will be presented to flite winners. Contests will also be held for the longest drive for each flite and for the persons in each flite coming closest to a selected pin.
