Cougars close with loss, look ahead with hope

WALLOWA - A 72-32 loss to Cove concluded the Cougars' 2011 football campaign, which this year includes no postseason appearances.

Although the Cougars finished in unfamiliar, sub-.500 territory (1-4 in league, 3-5 overall), Wallowa coach Bill Robb believes his team is better situated for 2012 after battling adversity this year. Injuries to older players forced younger ones to fill in, and the experience the younger players gained should serve them well come next fall.
