The Joseph High School varsity volleyball team’s season came to the end of the line in the quarterfinals at state playoffs at Ridgeview High School in Redmond last weekend

The Eagles fell to arch-enemy Powder Valley in three straight sets on Nov. 2 and the following day saw Crosshill Christian putting the hex on the Eagles in three straight as well.

The Eagles never took flight in the Powder Valley quarterfinals contest, although the first set saw a tooth and claw battle with the Eagles on the bottom end of a 26-24 score. The remaining two sets were anti-climactic as scores for the final sets were 17-25 and 15-25.

The final match, a consolation contest with Crosshill Christian, saw the Eagles try to make a battle of it with every set going down to the wire. Set scores were 21-25, 22-25 and 19-25.
