Jake Goebel of Wallowa and Hannah Bobbitt and Clayton Lowe of Joseph have each been awarded $200 scholarships from the Wallowa County Retired Educators. The scholarships are awarded in April or May of each year to help current college or university students with ever-increasing educational costs.

Membership in Wallowa County Retired Educators is open to retired individuals with past or present involvement in education. The group meets monthly, September through May. Dues are $25. Membership is open to all people involved and interested in helping the students of Wallowa County, such as retired administrative secretaries, custodians, instructional assistants and all others interested in education.
