Enterprise Hotshots go out in blaze of glory

The Hotshots went out with a blaze.

Enterprise's youngest basketball team - local girls between Grades 3 and 6 - finished this season in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) by crushing Elgin, 28-0, on March 14. Tiffany George scored 10 points, Natalie Williams banked 8 points, Reece Christman added 6 points and Sarah Aschenbrenner had 4.

The victory improved the Hotshots' record to 3-7. In addition to the wins, this season also featured a couple of nail biters against La Grande. Enterprise suffered a 16-15 loss on March 8. A week later, La Grande managed a 19-18 decision.

Over the month, Aschenbrenner was the top scorer. She totaled 69 points. Williams wound up with 24 points, George netted 22 and Christman 18. The Hotshots also used Darby Gassett's 10 points, while Lexie Gassett and Eliza Irish each contributed 2 points.

The Hotshots took their first victory Feb. 6 from the hands of La Grande. They won, 15-11. Aschenbrenner tallied 8 points, Darby Gassett 4 and Christman 2. George converted a free-throw.

A month later, Enterprise defeated Imbler, 21-14. Aschenbrenner had 13 points, while Darby Gassett and Christman scored 4 points, apiece.
