Enterprise's boys and girls golf teams kicked off their 2003 season on an up stroke Friday afternoon at the Echo Invitational Ice Breaker. The EHS boys led by Nathan Slinker's 81 finished the 18 holes in second place behind Echo out of the seven team field with a 341. Teammate Kevin Gomes was two strokes behind with an 83.

EHS coach Mike Crawford took seven boys to the tournament playing five on varsity and two on the JV squad. Sophomore Jake Thompson shot a 78 on the JV squad to lead Enterprise's golfers in the tourney.

Echo's Jason Sperr held medalist honors with a 76.

The EHS girls shot a 393 to defeat 3A powerhouse Riverside 425. Enterprise golfers Kayla Miller and Kayla Stoffel led the Red and Black, shooting a 90 over the course.

Jessica Marcum and Lacey Nobles rounded out the EHS scoring with a 102 and 111 respectively.

Wallowa had two girls in the tourney with Holli Barton shooting a 100 and Leith Pringle at 115.

The Wallowa boys finished the afternoon in fourth place with a 369. Luke Servis led the Wallowa squad with an 87.
