Once school's done, soccer will begin.

The Wallowa Valley Soccer Association (WVSA) will make two teams of boys and girls, ages 12 to 18, for this summer. Youngsters already can sign up at schools in Wallowa, Joseph and Enterprise. Applications are also possible online, at (www.wallowavalleysoccer.org).

Registration costs $25. Make checks out to Wallowa Valley Soccer Association. Scholarships, if necessary, may be available. Families should indicate their need on the form. Players can drop off completed applications, with payments, at the schools or mail them to Wallowa Valley Soccer Association, PO Box 104, Enterprise OR 97828.

Coaches will contact players in early June for practices in Enterprise, followed by games in July. WVSA expects to have teams in U15 (ages 12 to 14) and U19 (15-18). Each will play at least eight games, mostly in Union County. Players, parents and coaches must work together and arrange transportation.

For more information, call Ken Gebhardt at 541-426-3242.

During the summer, WVSA also will accept applications for the fall, when youngsters, ages 5 to 13, take the field. The league will provided registration information.
