Getting ready for ice skating

Andie Lueders, on the ground, helps Craig Anderson put up a light pole for the Community Ice Rink at Enterprise City Park as the wind blows and the temperature plummets on Monday. The volunteers said they wanted to get the poles up before the ground froze solid. Though the rink wasn’t yet frozen enough to skate on Monday, the hopes were that frigid temperatures forecast for the remainder of this week would allow the rink to open for the season by this weekend. Call the ice rink hotline, 541-263-0715, to check on the rink’s status later this week.
