WALLOWA — Due to a lack of players available to take the field, the Wallowa football team has canceled its game with Adrian scheduled for Friday, Sept. 23, in Adrian.
The volleyball squad will still make the trip to take on the Antelopes in a nonleague matchup, according to Wallowa Principal Sara Hayes. The Cougar volleyball team will also host Powder Valley on Friday.
Illness and a number of long-term injuries have hit the Cougar football team, according to Hayes.
“We have some players out with injuries that will not be healed up in time for (Sept. 23),” she said. “We also have some players out on COVID protocol.”
Wallowa will attempt to heal a few of those bruises and pull some kids back for the Cougars’ next scheduled game hosting Imbler on Friday, Sept. 30.
