Wallowa High volleyball lost its match at Imbler on Friday afternoon. After splitting the first two games, the Lady Panthers took the final two, 25-20 amd 25-19.

Except for the first game, which Imbler took 25-15, the action was back and forth. The Panthers had a slim lead, 18-17, in the final game when they made a crucial run to pull away.

"We seemed to be a little tentative," Wallowa coach Terri Wilson said. "Part of it was communication. They didn't always know who was going to get the ball, so they would be slow to commit."

Senior middle blocker Brittany Mayton and senior outside hitter Mallory Turner both had a team-leading 9 kills. They also made 3 solo blocks, each. Sophomore middle blocker Meagan McKenzie made 6 kills.

Mayton served well, successful on 16 of 17 with 4 aces. Junior libero Ayesha Wortman also served 4 aces. Freshman setter Kuulei Delatori was 13 for 13.

On Tuesday, Wallowa went to Quinn Court at Enterprise. The match was scheduled too late to be included in this edition of the Chieftain.
