Poor serving was Joseph's Achilles heel Friday in a 25-17, 25-13, 25-11 Wapiti League volleyball loss to PineEagle.

The Eagles served only 76 percent in the match.

Stephanie Petersen and Cathy Carnahan played stellar games for Pine-Eagle. Carnahan served 12 straight points in the third game to spark the Spartans.

Jerri Moro led Joseph with six kills. Teammates Jessie Botham and Haddie Carpenter both had five. Botham added five blocks to her statistics while Tiffany Zimmer had eight digs for the Eagles.

Joseph had early leads in the first two games, but could not match the consistency of the Pine-Eagle unit.
