The Northeast Oregon Wrestling Club will begin the 2006-07 season on Nov. 2. The club is for kids ages 5 - 14. It promises to be a great season with the first tournament scheduled for Nov. 1 at Baker City, including a scheduled appearance by U.S. Olympic wrestler Rulon Garnder. There will be an informational meeting, mainly for parents, set for Monday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m. at Enterprise High School gymnasium.

The NEOWC began in 2003 and is a chartered club through the Oregon Wrestling Association and the USA Wrestling Association. There are over 100 clubs throughout Oregon and plenty of opportunity for this age group of kids to get their feet wet with the sport of wrestling. The club will host its own tournament on Jan. 20 at Enterprise High School.

The club invites all children in the county to come and see what the sport of wrestling is all about; whether this would be the first year or the fourth year, all who are interested are welcome. If you are interested, please attend the informational meeting on Monday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. or call Gary Maben at 541-132-1210.
