The Lady Cougars swept Crane Friday afternoon in three game 25-11,25-17 and 25-15 during volleyball action at Wallowa. The win puts the Cougs in a three-way Old Oregon League tie with Powder Valley and Prairie City. "We're in a playoff situation," said Lady Cougs coach Terri Wilson." If we defeat Cove on Friday we will be tied with the winner of the Powder Valley vs. Prairie City game. The kids are quite capable of doing well at Cove and at district," she added.
WHS served 90 percent as a team against the Mustangs on Friday with Lynique Oveson and Chelsie Frei connecting on 100 percent of their serves going 7/7 and 9/9 respectively. Wendy Spaur and Katie Sturtevant were dominate from the line.
Spaur served 21/22 including four aces with Sturtevant serving 15/17 with four aces. Sturtevant also had 20 assists for the match.
Amber Josi led in passing with the highest receiving ratio, going 6/7. Megan McLain had four solo block to her credit.
