Oliver’s three kings a winner at shoot

Youth shooter Kai Oliver’s three kings were good for first place in the 13-16 year division at the Eagle Cap Shooters Association’s second annual Youth Shoot, a poker shoot held July 21 at the association’s range north of Enterprise.

Nine shooters competed in the poker shoot, two in the 13-16 division and seven in the 8-12 age group. Shooters entered a total of 36 poker hands.

In the 8-12 division, Cole Gomes finished in first place, Mackenzie Senger took second, and Kade Kilgore produced the third-best hand.Kai Oliver had the first- and third-place winning hands in his division, where Alex Coutant took second place.

Both first place finishers won a 10-22 rifle, and second place winners took home a rod and reel.

Association member Kim Hutchison, who organized the shoot, said the event drew support from a number of sponsors, including the Wolf family, Enterprise Electric, Norton Welding, Ram Auto, Oddball Junction, Ed Staub, Video Buffs, Family Video, Miller Plumbing, R&R, Joseph Hardware, Testerman family, Wiedeman family, VFW Post 4307, and Wallowa County Grain Growers.
