Freshman Baylee Shelton hit a home run for Wallowa High School's softball team and pitched three innings out of the bullpen as the Lady Cougars swept their May 1 doubleheader at home against Adrian High.

Wallowa girls' overall record evened at 7-7, as their mark in Special District 6 improved to 6-6. They remained in third place.

Shelton's inside-the-park round tripper stood out in Wallowa's hitting spree. The Cougars pounded the Antelopes, 13-3 and 13-5. Sophomore McKenzie Shelton tripled and doubled. She joined senior Judith Shike, senior Ayesha Wortman, junior Angela Burns and Baylee as they totaled 10 extra-base hits.

Meanwhile, Delatori started both games in the pitching circle and kept Adrian quiet. Baylee relieved her after two innings of the opener. Delatori worked all of the latter game.

Next, Wallowa will take on two more league rivals. The Cubs of Enterprise-Joseph come May 8 to Kirk Jones Memorial Field for two games. The following day, the Cougars travel to Halfway.
