Sparked by the efforts of lightning quick Randy Spaur, Wallowa's boys basketball team scored the first 17 points of the game and literally coasted to a 72-45 win over the Adrian Antelopes Saturday night. The win keeps WHS in the thick of the race for a seat in the district tournament with two games remaining in the regular Old Oregon League season.

Wallowa plays Prairie City on the road Friday night and ends the regular season at home Saturday against Jordan Valley. A win over the Panthers on Friday night would eliminate Prairie City from district tournament contention and ensure Wallowa a berth at the eight team Old Oregon League/Tri Co League district tournament beginning Feb. 19 at Baker City.

Spaur scored six field goals, three 3-point field goals and three free throws for a 24 point evening. The only other Cougar in double figures was Ryan Harshfield with 10 points. Shawn Reynolds scored 11 points and Tyler Wagstaff 10 for the visiting Antelopes.
