The Weston-McEwen boys basketball team took the lead early and never looked back as they easily handled the Wallowa Cougars 76-43 in the third place game of the Wallowa Lions Basketball Tournament Saturday afternoon.

Shooting from all over the court, T.J. Parrish hit six field goals, three treys and his only two free throws to lead all scorers with 23 points. Zach Johnson added 18 points, Eric Delph 12 and Jimmy King 11 as the visitors from Athena erected a 16-8 first quarter advantage, led 32-19 at the half and scored 27 points in the third quarter to up their lead to 59-34.

A field goal by Ryan Harshfield gave Wallowa its only lead of the game at 4-3 before the muscular 6-5" Johnson converted an offensive rebound and a free throw to go with it to give Weston-McEwen the lead for good midway in the opening quarter.

Randy Spaur led Wallowa offensively with 15 points.
