It was Colby Moore’s night Friday as the Wallowa Varsity Football team blew Adrian out of the water at home.

Late in the third quarter, Moore ran 79 yards for a touchdown to rousing cheers from Cougar fans.

The TD was one of eight Wallowa scored in the 62-6 victory. Adrian managed to score only once late in the first quarter.

Wallowa had 675 yards rushing for the night, one of the highest tallies in recent memory.

The team was led by Austin Brockamp with 218 yards, Zeb Ramsden with 159 and quarterback Gus Ramsden 107. Tristin Bales also added five yards.

Gus Ramsden completed two of four passes for 27 yards.

Adrian had better success with passing yardage, amassing 165 but posted a meager 289 yards rushing.

Defensively, Zeb Ramsden led the squad with six tackles and six assists, Ricky Prince had five tackles and four assists. Zeb Hermans also posted six assists in the game.

Wallowa is 3-0 in league play and ranked fifth. Crane is ranked at the top. The Cougar matchup with Crane Oct. 12 will likely be the team’s toughest challenge for the season.

The 2-1 Falls City/Kings Valley Charter team will be in town Saturday at 1 p.m. The Cougars finish regular season play against Pine Eagle, Crane and Cove.
