Wallowa Varsity Volleyball team bested Imbler in five sets Sept. 25, 25-17, 21-25, 22-25, 25-21 and 15-9.
Shannarae Tillery led with 34 digs and 16 kills including four solo blocks.
Rylee Goller had 27 digs and 6 kills. Ashlyn Young had 24 digs with 31 assists.
“This was a win that wasn’t possible without the total team effort,” said Coach Janea Hulse. “We started with a win in the first game and then lost the next two. The girls started playing timid and lost their confidence.
“When the fourth game came, I finally started seeing them come together and trust in themselves and each other.” After that win, the coin flip gave Wallowa the serve. “It was one point at a time,” Hulse said. “Defense was crucial. Our serve receive was the best that I’ve seen them do this season as a whole.
