This season already feels good.

Most of Wallowa High School's golfers are newcomers, but they have more pre-season practice than the 2009 team. Last year, an extra long winter kept them indoors. The final day, they played in a hailstorm.

"Compared to last year, we're already better off," coach Marvin Gibbs said.

Wallowa has enough girls for a complete team. Sophomore Katelynn Burns and Shawna Chrisman return. They are joined by senior Natalie Millar, sophomore Breanna Wallace and sophomore Sara Chrisman.

The boys have a similar roster. Two of last year's golfers, junior Mitchell Swift and sophomore Chris Swift, are back. Senior Luke Pringle last played as a sophomore. The team added junior Tyler Chrisman, junior Hunter Harvey, freshman Pierce Millar and freshman Cody Swift.
