Until Enterprise High School's track-and-field team put together a successful start to this season April 9 in Baker City, with Top 3 finishes in seven different events, it seemed as though this season might never begin. Enterprise skipped the Umatilla Ice Breaker March 19, with too many boys and girls away on spring break. Two weeks later, sleet and a howling gust in Milton-Freewater cancelled the Carnival of Speed, and snow on the bus ride home threatened to trap the team on the Tollgate. But Enterprise finally broke free at the Baker Relays.
