Wallowa Valley Youth Soccer Association has completed one of its most popular seasons in recent years. More than 200 children registered for three divisions of team this year.

League play began Sept. 10 and concluded Saturday at Jensen Field with the annual soccer jamboree.

Athletes age 5-13 competed with teams forming from across Wallowa County.

A small army of volunteers, coaches, referees, maintenance and others were part of the effort. Each team was sponsored by an area business or nonprofit.

Team sponsorships are available for a $100 donation. That purchases team uniforms for one team with the sponsor’s name on the back of each team’s shirt.
